Insecure, wishing to fade into the shadows, Clair O’Neal attends
a writer’s party as a favor for her boss, the owner of small
bookstore. From that evening on, her life will never be the
same thanks to the chance encounter of two men, Hudson
Mandel, a performer and brother of the author, and Glenn
Yves, a professional image maker who takes a mysterious
interest in helping Clair turn her life around. Though the plot is
somewhat contrived and predictable, the read is good, and the
writing is excellent. Glen is the equivalent of a human guardian
angel, lurking and kind. Does he have another motive for
helping Clair apart from his profession? These two seasoned
and gifted authors have teamed together to offer an engaging
and warm story, a story that demonstrates the beauty that
shines through our own insecurities and fears. This is a story of
God’s unconditional love, how He transcends the past, even
one filled with rejection. A worthwhile read.
