Do not call to mind the former things, or
ponder things of the past. Behold, I will do
something new, now it will spring forth,
will you not be aware of it? I will even make
a roadway in the wilderness, rivers in the
desert (Isaiah 43: 18-19)

The desert, though dangerous, hot,
uncomfortable, and teeming with mirages,
is not to be feared. God has promised
rivers in them. He will bring new things out
of the old. The reason a lot of people never
realize this is because they cling to the old.
They cling to the hurts, disappointments,
and failures of the past. Not only that, but
some cling to the wealth of the old. The old
may be comfortable and pleasant. God
wants us to put it all away. Forget it. Move
on. He will do the new thing regardless of
us. The pity is we won’t be able to notice it.
