JEANNE LEACH
I am a published author of Christian historical fiction novels,
newsletters, and articles, and am a freelance editor. My second book,
THE PLIGHT OF MATTIE GORDON, was released in March, and my
third, SHADOW OF DANGER, will debut in the September. I also have
a non-fiction book being released in August. WRITING BASICS FOR
BEGINNERS was born out of a workshop I taught for the American
Christian Fiction Writers to help new writers know where and how to
begin writing.
I have successfully helped unpublished Christian writers since 2002
to become award winning and published authors, and developed
and teach writing workshops for beginners. My specialty is Christian
fiction novels and short stories, but I also like working with
non-fiction authors. I enjoy mentoring aspiring writers, critiquing
beginners, and editing those who already understand how to write,
but need their work polished before sending it to a publisher.
PERSONAL ABOUT ME:
Married 32 years, no children, one 130 lb. and one 90 lb. Alaskan
malamute.
I work part-time at a Bed and Breakfast as Assistant Innkeeper, and
write as often as I can during the rest of the week. My freelance
editing business has grown enough this year that I plan to quit this
job in September and work exclusively as an editor.
My hobbies include show shoeing, hiking, biking, jeeping,
scrapbooking, winning the local annual chili cook off, reading,
interior decorating, eBaying.
I have been a Christian since the summer before my Senior year in
High School in 1972. My husband and I are in between churches for
the first time in our lives. Living in a small town, there isn't much from
which to choose, so we are praying for God's guidance in finding a
fellowship that will stick to the Word of God and not add a bunch of
touchy-feely, new age stuff to it. I've been Sunday school teacher,
Children's Church leader, and in the last eight years I've led the
Women's Ministry. I miss it all so much, but God has given me many
opportunities to minister through my writing groups.
