The Wall Series is an epic tale that extends across
generations and unfolds against the backdrop of a
dangerous Cold War Berlin.  Book I occurs circa 1948,
during the beginnings of the iron curtain. In post war
Germany, the Russians begin to circumvent movement
between East and West Berlin. Teenage cousins Katarina
and Erich struggle just to survive and worry about their ill
grandmother caught on the Communist held territory of
Berlin.

Erich has also learned to distrust Americans, those he
blames for his minister father’s death. As Erich rummages
through the bombed out church where his father died, he
uncovers a treasure, a treasure that will eventually play a
part in unification of a family torn apart by the division
between East and West.

When Erich is caught rummaging through an American
airplane for food, he is forced to assist the American
officer in a human interest story that will include a candy
drop into East Berlin. Erich doesn’t want to like the
American whose life is destined to become intertwined
with his.

Although a fictional account of courage and faith, Robert
Elmer takes great pains in assuring historical accuracy
making this series both entertaining and enlightening,
engaging readers of all ages.
