A Soldier's Promise
By Cheryl Wyatt

Neither wanted a relationship at this point in their lives.
Teacher Amber Stanton, still reeling from a romantic
disappointment, fears another hurtful entanglement. U.S. Air
Force pararescue jumper Joel Montgomery fears failing at a
romantic relationship. He has convinced himself that being a
parent in his line of work would be unfair to a child. Nor does
he want to return to Refuge, his hometown, a town that holds
too many painful memories of his unhappy childhood.
When Amber’s student, an eight year old leukemia patient,
writes to request meeting a Special Forces Soldier, specifically
requesting the one who grew up in his hometown of Refuge,
Dream Corp forwards the letter to Joel, setting both teacher
and PJ on a collision course. The two become attracted to one
another but both must overcome their fears. And knowing that
Joel wants no children to complicate her life, where does that
leave Bradley, whom Amber hopes to adopt?
With tender humor, Cheryl Wyatt has weaved an engaging
romance demonstrating that God has a plan in all things. When
we surrender our fears, live can take unexpected turns sure to
bring blessings that we never thought possible. This is the
author’s first book, and we look forward to the March release of
its sequel.
