The Familiar Stranger
©Moody Publishers 2009
Craig has amnesia. Not that uncommon considering the trauma he endured from a
horrific automobile accident, one in which a mysterious person was killed. Why
can’t Craig remember who he is? A wonderful, attractive woman claims to be his
wife. How could he forget so magical a relationship, his two sons and a thriving
dental practice. Shouldn’t he recall these blessings?
Denise senses her marriage is slipping away from her. When she receives a phone
call that Craig has been involved in a fatal car accident and is himself in critical
condition, she wonders what her life might be without him. How could she manage
the children by herself? Craig survives, but he has no memory of their life together.
What’s more, he is different. Of course, the physical damage from the accident has
changed his appearance. But, he has changed spiritually and emotionally—a
softer, kinder version of himself.
What of this mysterious man who was killed? What was Craig up to before the
accident? A witness says he and the man were arguing. About what? As Denise
digs for information, she uncovers truths about Craig that taxes the most patient
heart. How can she forgive his duplicity and deceit—sins that Craig cannot even
recollect?
Christina’s Berry has rendered an entertaining tale about a marriage gone awry,
tested and tried during horrific circumstances. While some of the plot devices are
familiar, there are sufficient differences to keep the reader involved in the story--
especially the ending.
